PADI Open Water Diver
Experienced divers will tell you there is nothing better than diving. To submerge and see new creatures for the first time, to identify marine animals few have seen before, to experience weightlessness and share experiences with friends. Diving adds purpose to your travel and can bring new wonders and adventure to a holiday. It can involve the whole family, a group of friends or the members of a club and perhaps for some will become more than just a pastime... Why PADI Open Water? As a certified PADI Open Water Diver, the most widely respected rating in the world, you have the freedom to dive with a buddy independent of a professional. If you already tried a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience or are PADI Scuba Diver certified, check with your instructor to see how credit from these courses may apply to the Open Water program. What do I need to start? Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification. If you are between 10 and 14 or have a child between these ages, there is a PADI Junior Open Water Diver program available.
What will I do?
We also offer a fast track option, whereby you can obtain a crew pak from a PADI Dive Centre near you, and take the time before coming on holiday to study the book. This will mean not taking up precious holiday time with most of the academic portion of the program. If you need help identifying a location to purchase the crew pak, we can help. We would then discount the price of the crew pak from the overal cost of the course, so that you were not also out of pocket. How long will it take? PADI programs are performance based. You proceed as you demonstrate mastery of the course skills. This allows you to work at a pace that is comfortable to you. Usually the confined and academic portions of the course are completed in a two day period, but this can be extended to allow for unforeseen circumstances, plus we will also tailor the course around your holiday commitments. The Open Water qualifying dives are then taken at a conveniently located dive site usually over the course of two days. We have locations both in Speyside and at the Hilton, which are safe and comfortable locations to take these dives. What will I need? The following are all provided as part of your course:-
How much does it cost? The price of the Open Water course training includes all academic work, pool sessions and four open water qualifying dives, all course materials, pic card, and equipment rental, and is listed at the top of the page. Where can I go from here? We recommend you gain diving experience by participating in "Continuing Education". The next level of training (in this case is the Advanced Open Water course) which can be taken immediately after completion of the Open Water Course and allows you to expand you knowledge and experience in different areas of diving. Stop by our dive centre for more information on this and other courses available today. |
